Experience 1: Enjoy Ayurvedic body massage with herbal oils, courtesies from VILASA

Kovalam, translate to “Grove of Coconut Trees” in local language, is famous for its clean and safe beaches. With its 17-kilometer coastline and three idyllic crescent- shaped beaches that slope gently into the Arabian Sea, the city, also called the Beach Town of Kerala.
After early breakfast, an hour drive from Kovalam, you will travel to a village called “Kottur”, to visit Elephant Rehabilitation Center, having 12 elephants including babies. You will see them fed, bathed and have a chance to give them bath. You can also sit on the bare back of elephant like huge leather sofa. The elephants demonstrate their tricks of putting garlands or flowers with their trunk on visitors head.
Afternoon, leave for city tour visiting Vizhinjam Mosque, Vizhinjam Marine Aquarium, with variety of marine life including Rock Lobsters and Piranhas. Then, head to the 8th-century Vizhinjam Cave Temple, a granite boulder with an opening on the side, leading to an underground cave.

After breakfast drive for day trip to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of South India, where three seas, – The Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal meet. You will visit 95 feet high Thiruvalluvar Statue of famous poet of Tamil Nadu named “Thiruvalluvar” .Visit Gandhi Memorial, “Our lady of Ramson” church, a center of Indian Cathelism and Thiruvallu.
Evening you will visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial and witness wonderful sunset in the ocean.
Drive back to Kovalam and relax in the comfort of your luxury accommodation.

Day 4: Kovalam – Cochin (By Air)
After breakfast, leave for Trivandrum Airport to catch flight to Cochin. Check in to your heritage hotel, “Brunton Boatyard”, relax and leave for city sight seeing tour of Cochin or “Kochi”- the palm green, commercial capital of Kerala which has one of the finest natural harbours & is known as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea”. From time immemorial, Arabs, Chinese, Dutch, British & Portuguese seafarers followed the sea route to Kochi & left their impression on the town. Modern Kochi is thus a splendid mosaic of these myriad influences.
Visit the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue, the Church of St. Francis & the famous Chinese fishing nets.
Experience 2: Late afternoon witness the Kathakali dance performance – Kathakali is a unique dance which has a 2000 year old history with more than 100 different ‘mudras’ or gesture depicting deities, demons, heroes, heroines and kings – each based on episodes from the Mahabharata and Ramayana, the two epic Indian myths.
Transfer to hotel and relax.

Transfer to the Vessels for sail and two nights stay.
Once guests are on board, The Oberoi Motor Vessel Vrinda sets sail along the main waterway on Vembanad Lake and enters the Alleppey canal. Guest can actively participate with the local fishermen and understand the life cycle of “karimeen” also known as “pearl spot”. Lunch will be served on board.
The Oberoi Motor Vessel Vrinda sails along the scenic waterways for four hours and returns to the Vembanad Lake in time for the sunset.
Later in the evening, guests can enjoy a performance of the highly ritualized “Kathakali” dance. The Vessel will anchor for the night at the Vembanad Lake jetty.Dinner on board.

On board the vessel with a rice boat excursion. The Vessel will sail from the Vembanad Lake jetty head south, towards Alleppey. Breakfast will be served on board. Sailing through scenic backwaters, guests can life along these “water highways” while passing through one of the few areas in the world where farming is done below sea level.
Guests will be transferred to a traditional rice boat navigate through the narrower sections of the backwaters. For the next few hours, guests will observe experience a way of life unique to this region, accompanied by a guide. This section of the cruise includes a visit to the half-statue of Lord Buddha at Karumadi and a traditional Kerala tharavad (family residence).
Later in the day, guests return to the vesselwhere will be served as the boat passes through picturesque stretches of the backwaters on the way back to Alleppey, known as the “Venice of the East. Motor Vessel Vrinda will return to Vembanad Lake, where guests can enjoy Vrinda Vadiyam a musical fusion of classical instruments. Vessel will anchor for the night at the Vembanad Lake jetty.

The Vessel will sail from the Vembanad Lake jetty and head south, past Kanjippadam. Vrinda will anchor near Chambakulam where guests will transfer onto the rice boat once again for a pre-lunch sightseeing excursion.
Guests will be able to visit St. Mary-s Church, established by St. Thomas in 1721 and Sree Bhagavathy Kshetram – a 100-year old Hindu temple to Mother Goddess – at Nedumudy. Guests can also explore the Chambakulam snake boat yard, which displays one of the traditional long snake boats used in races.
To further the understanding and appreciation of this experience, a qualified guide will be present on board for the full day after cruising through the backwaters. In the afternoon, The Motor Vessel will return to Vembanad Lake,where guests can enjoy a “Mohiniattam” recital on board. This classical dance form, distinctive to Kerala, is also called the “Dance of the Enchantress”. Dancers attired in beautiful traditional costumes perform with slow, graceful movements and highly emotive expressions.

The Vessel will sail north/south along the main waterway channel on the Vembanad Lake and head South, past Pallathurathy.
Breakfast will be served on board; following which guests will check out at 10 am and will be transported by air-conditioned vehicle back to Cochin.
Then drive to Thekkady – India’s largest wildlife sanctuary and a dream destination for any tourist visiting India. You will drive through panoramic western ghat hills covered with spice plantations and occasional view of waterfalls and streams. Throughout this journey you can enjoy different type of spice plantations like cardamom, vanilla, pepper, cinnamon, clove etc.
Experience 3: Stop at Coffee plantation garden and enjoy fresh coffee and visit the garden.

After breakfast, proceed for the sightseeing tour of Periyar – one of the world’s most fascinating wild life reserves. The Periyar wild life sanctuary in Thekkady is spread across 777 sq. km of which 360 sq. km is thick ever green forest. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wild life and scenic beauty, the sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Optional activities like Boating at Periyar Lake, Spice Plantation visit, Bamboo Rafting, Trekking and Elephant Ride can also be done.
You can also opt for viewing cruise on the Periyar Lake. Here you will be able to see a large variety of wildlife, which include elephants, monkeys, deer, etc. and quite a lot of unique birds can also be spotted. There are also few tribal villages to explore.
